German packaging firm Rako Etiketten has bought a new printing press form the label printing equipment manufacturer Gallus.

Rako Etiketten Buys Gallus Press

The new Gallus ECS 340 press features ten flexographic printing stations, one screen printing station as well as one cold foil unit for finishing.

Rako Etiketten production manager Holger Schoer said efficient production operations are one of the prerequisites for cost-effective adhesive label manufacturing.

"At just 1.1 metres between printing units, the extremely short web path of the Gallus ECS 340 has enabled us to reduce our waste dramatically," Schoer added.

Added to the packaging firm's current line of 26 presses, the new printing press will be used for producing adhesive labels.

Rako Etiketten printer Raimund Wiechert said, "Thanks to its technical granite core, the Gallus ECS 340 is quieter than any other machine in its class. This enables us to deliver outstanding print quality despite maximum production speed."
