Bike computer maker Sigma has received an award from the group that supports use of the ANT+ wireless protocol.

The ANT+ Alliance awarded Sigman the 2013 ANT+ Brand Leader Award. The judging panel that honored Sigma with the award cited Sigma's communication during both Eurobike and Interbike as a key criterion for receiving the award. The award was announced at the ANT+ Symposium held in Kananaskis, Alberta, last month.

ANT+ is developed and owned by the Canadian company Dynastream, which is owned by Garmin. The Alliance has more than 300 members;?Sigma is a first year member and joined in conjunction with the release of the ROX 10.0 GPS bicycle computer. The ROX 10.0 GPS computer uses ANT+ for the speed, cadence and heart rate transmission. It also can receive signals from ANT+-based power meters.

Brian Orloff, Sigma USA's managing director, said, "By using the ANT+ receiver in the ROX 10.0 GPS, consumers now have an alternative computer display option that is compatible with their power meters and built-in speed and cadence transmitters.
